Since August 1995, Dance Foundations has striven to evaluate, improve, update, challenge, and perfect our business to provide the best experience possible for our dancers and their families.
There are many benefits to enrolling your dancer at our studio, but we feel these are the Top 5.
Our Christian values solidify our strong belief in age appropriate dance movements, song lyrics and costume selection.
In order to provide the best education in our dancers, we maintain an excellent teacher to student ratio. The smaller the class size, the more personal, individualized attention and correction our dancers receive.
Dance Basics Classes (2-3 yrs.) are limited to 7 dancers
Ballet Basics Classes (3-4 yrs.) are limited to 8 dancers
Preballet/Tap 1 Classes (4-5 yrs.) are limited to 10 dancers
Preballet/Tap/Jazz/Hip Hop 2 Classes (5-7 yrs.) are limited to 12 dancers
All other classes are limited to 14 dancers
Dance Foundations prides itself on our beautiful facilities. Our dance floors are spacious and fitted with quality sprung hardwood floors and Marley to prevent our dancers from injury. Parents sit comfortably in our waiting area and enjoy multiple views from television monitors and glass doors of their child so they can keep an eye on their child’s progress in the classroom while watching siblings play, view movies, or study in our family friendly waiting area. Finally, everyone has access to the internet with our free WiFi connection.
The best education starts with the best teachers. We employ instructors who are well trained in the arts and disciplines of dance and theatre and also have a love of children. Our instructors serve as a positive role model to our students and genuinely enjoy being a part of each dancer’s learning and growth in technique and performance.
Each spring and winter, our dancers perform in our theatrical story productions, incorporating all dance forms and music styles. Dancers, singers, and actors have the opportunity to shine while demonstrating all they have learned throughout the year. Parents can rest assured that our performances are well organized and build on technique already learned in class. We offer competition team events such as Columbia Associations Battle of the Dance, Onstage, Dance Educators of America, and Headliners.
We also promote the arts in our community with the following organizations: Columbia Festival of the Arts, Columbia Association, Children’s Cancer Fund, Turf Valley, Kidsfest, Merriweather Post Pavilion, Clark’s Elioak Farm, and local schools and community groups.
