Ballet/Pointe
Classical ballet technique includes Vagonava, RAD, Cechetti, and Balanchine with an eye to the current American blending of forms.
Jazz
Classical American jazz technique incorporating Broadway, Giordano, Hatchett, Rock, Funk, Lyrical, Fosse, Contemporary, LA, and Hip Hop styles.
Tap
Tap training includes the African American beginnings through musical theatre styles, “hoofing”, and codified tap terminologies. Improvisation in upper levels is explored.
Modern
Beginning levels focus on Limon and Cunningham technique. Taylor, Horton, and Graham styles as well as improvisation are covered in higher levels.
Contemporary/Lyrical
This dance form incorporates ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop with the focus on performance qualities, attack, and flow. Students must know basic ballet, modern, and jazz positions.
Acrobatics
This class offers gymnastic tumbling skills, minus the equipment. It enhances all dance training and helps increase strength and flexibility.
Hip Hop
Contemporary style of movement started in the 1980s, made popular by its use in music videos by many music artists and choreographers.
Musical Theatre Dance
Training will focus on learning about musicals, and includes jazz and tap technique. Students will receive information on writing resumes, picking monologues, choosing songs for auditions, performance qualities, and learning how to dance and sing at the same time.
Fitness
Each fitness class will focus on raising your heart rate, increasing your strength and flexibility, and creating a state of well being.
